AB De Villiers, Virat Kohli hammer Gujarat Lions as RCB win by record 144 runs

Royal Challengers Bangalore today crushed Gujarat Lions by a whopping 144 runs with 8 balls to spare in the IPL match played in Bengaluru. This was the biggest margin of win in IPL, beating Kolkata Knight Riders' 140 run win in the opening match of first IPL. Invited to bat first, Royal Challengers amassed 248 for three in the stipulated 20 overs with AB de Villiers remaining unbeaten with 129 and skipper Virat Kohli smashing 109. This was also the second highest team score in the history of IPL behind Royal Challengers' 263 for five against Pune Warriors. Gujarat Lions, however, could not reach the target and collapsed at 104 in 18.4 overs. With this win, Royal Challengers Bangalore have kept their hopes alive for a playoff spot . Another IPL match between Knight Riders and Rising Pune Supergiants started in Kolkata a shortwhile ago. Supeergiants have won the toss and elected to bat.
