Aam Aadmi Party has urged the Eelction Commission to prevent government from signing a contract with Essar Group. In a letter to the Commission, the party said, if the decision is taken, it will violate the model code of conduct as Lok Sabha elections are in progress. It had alleged that Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Veerapa Moily is trying to unduly favour the group by awarding it, an unfinished contract of an oil field in Mumbai.
