Aam Aadmi Party,AAP has sought an appointment from the Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung for a meeting with all its MLAs to discuss future course of action. The move came amid Amid reports that BJP is trying to form government in Delhi. In a tweet, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that the confirmation about his appointemnt is being awaited. Kejriwal also said that Mr Jung should first seek the list of MLAs supporting BJP in government formation. At present, AAP has 27 MLAs in the 70-member Delhi Legislative Assembly.
Yesterday, AAP had charged the BJP with indulging in horsetrading of its MLAs saying that the party is trying to buy six Congress MLAs by paying 20 crore rupees to each for their support in government formation.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP slapped a legal notice to Aam Aadmi Party Convenor Arvind Kejriwal for accusing BJP for indulging in horse-trading for government formation. Addressing media in New Delhi today Delhi BJP MLA, R P Singh said that if Kejriwal has any evidence of horse trading, he should make it public. Mr Singh said that he has given one crore rupees defamation legal notice to Kejriwal for his false accusation. He asked Kejriwal to withdraw his statement otherwise, he will file a defamation suit.
Earlier in the day, Home Minister and BJP leader Rajnath Singh denied the allegation and asserted that BJP has never done any horsetrading and will not indulge in it in future. He was responding to a media query that BJP is engineering defection in Congress and is engaged in horsetrading of opposition party MLAs in Delhi.
On the other hand , Congress has maintained that all its MLAs are united. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, party spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the reports of defection are baseless.
