Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has reiterated its demand to bring Delhi police under the city government. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, party spokesperson Yogendra Yadav said that people are coming to the Ministers and MLAs with their complaints but police are not listening to them.
He said Delhi Police must be accountable to the people of the national capital saying that the police had refused to take action in the three recent incidents relating to the women. Mr. Yadav said that an official from the Uganda High Commission had met Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti and supported his action in the Malviya Nagar case.
Welcoming the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's dharna, he said a fair inquiry can’t be conducted in these cases until the officers involved in these cases are being suspended.
