Aam Admi Party, AAP, the second largest group in Delhi assembly today said it will not stake claim to form the government.
Party leader Yogendra Yadav told media after a meeting of senior leaders that Arvind Kejriwal, leader of AAP legislature party, would tell Lt Governor that the party does not have majority and is not inclined to form the government.
He said the party will submit a memorandum to the Lt Governor explaining its position tomorrow.
Lt Governor yesterday invited Kejriwal to discuss government formation.
Earlier, the BJP, which is the single largest party with 31 seats, declined to form the government citing lack of majority.
Congress has offered outside support to Aam Admi Party to form a government in Delhi. Party sources said that senior Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed and party state president J P Aggrawal have written a letter in this regard to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung
