Aam Aadmi Party will today announce its decision on formation of a government in Delhi. This was disclosed by the party Convenor Arvind Kejriwal yesterday. He said, a final decision on government formation will be announced after analysing the results of the week-long referendum through SMS, Interactive Voice Response System, emails and public meetings conducted in the national capital.
Mr Kejriwal said, they will meet Lt Governor Najeeb Jung at 12.30 PM today to apprise him about his party's decision. He said, though about 80 per cent of those who attended the public meetings held in this regard favoured that AAP should form the government, the final decision will be taken after a meeting of Political Affairs Committee.
Congress Party has extended unconditional outside support to the AAP to form a government in Delhi. The BJP, which emerged as the single largest party with 31 seats in the 70 member Assembly, has already declined the Lt Governor's offer to form a government in absence of a clear majority. The Lt. Governor then invited AAP, which bagged 28 seats and emerged as the second largest party, to form the government. The AAP had sought time to elicit people’s views and make up its mind to form a government with the help of Congress.
