In Lucknow, armed with brooms, workers of Aam Aadmi Party clashed with lathi-wielding activists of BJP and fought pitched street battles.

They staged a demonstration outside the BJP headquarters on Vidhan Sabha Marg this evening against the detention of Kejriwal in a north Gujarat town.

The Aam Aadmi Party's national Convener Arvind Kejriwal has appealed to his volunteers to stay calm and not resort to any kind of violence.
