Aakash will be available from April this year

The improved version of world's cheapest tablet PC Aakash will be available from April this year at the price of its older version. This was disclosed by HRD Minister Kapil Sibal in New Delhi today while launching the Virtual Lab. He said the indigenously developed new version of Aakash will have improved hardware and capacitive touch screen instead of resistive one. He said through Aakash every student in the country can be able to access the virtual lab.

Mr. Sibal said that these virtual labs will cater to students at the undergraduate level, post graduate level as well as to research scholars. He said students can avail the various tools for learning including additional web resources, video lectures, animated demonstrations and self evaluation. The Minister said the main objective of virtual labs is to share costly equipment and resources, which are other wise available to limited number of users due to constraints on time and geographical distances. The virtual lab has been developed by the prestigious institutes of country including IITs.
