Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal today said that the improved version of computer tablet Aakash II will be brought out next month.

Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha, Mr. Sibal said that manufacturing company Data wind has agreed to supply one lakh tablets in its second lot of supply.

He said the micro processor speed in Aakash-II has been increased from 366 mega hertz to 700 mega hertz. He said the tablet will also have a battery life of three hours. Mr. Sibal said Datawind has also agreed to supply the Aakash-II at the same price.

He said the complaints received on the earlier version of Aakash-I regarding low speed, touch screen response have been rectified in the new version Aakash-II.
