A Memorandum of Understanding – MoU, was on Thursday signed at Ranchi between the Airport Authority of India and Jharkhand government for expansion of Deoghar airport. The expansion plan is in two phases and would be completed within two years.The existing small airport of Deoghar was built in 1987, and the proposed expansion will cost Rs. 350 crores, in which the Center would provide Rs. 300 crores and the remaining Rs. 50 crores would be provided by the state government.State Chief Minister Arjun Munda, JMM Supremo Shibu Soren, Deputy Chief Minister Hemant Soren, MP from Godda, Nishikant Dube and Chairman of the Airport Authority of India B P Agrawal were important dignitaries present at the function.
