AAI develops No Frills airport model to promote tourism

Airports Authority of India has developed No Frills airport model to promote tourism and other economic activities in smaller cities without compromising on safety and security.Briefing reporters on the completion of hundred days of the new government, minister for Civil Aviation, Ashok Gajapati Raju Pusapati said in New Delhi that a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed for setting up 50 Mega Watt power plants. Automation system at Mumbai has been upgraded and radar data from Mumbai, Bhopal, Ahmadabad and Udaipur have been integrated into one. CISF has established help desk at 76 airports across the country to assist passengers. He said a mobile application based public grievance system has been started. Initially it will give details of 20 airports and will be extended to all airports by 31st of March next year.New portal on passengers related information KYR, Know Your Rights was launched today. Joining of Star Alliance by Air India on 11th of July this year is another achievement. The public airlines successfully evacuated 1361 Indian nationals from Iraq and Libya. It also commenced air services to Moscow in July. The minister said Air India is also assisting in rescue operation in Kashmir by providing helicopters and special flights.
