Government has clarified that Aadhaar of Husband is not mandatory under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, PMMVY, to facilitate the inclusion of single mother and abandoned mother. Under the scheme, maternity benefits of five thousand rupees is being provided in three installments to the Pregnant Women and the Lactating Mothers for the first living child of the family upon fulfilment of certain conditionalities. Earlier, the beneficiary was required to provide Aadhaar cards of the women and their husbands. This information was given by the Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today.<br />'' <br />''The Minister said, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana is implemented in all States and Union Territories, except Odisha and Telangana.
