Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai has said that a total of 84,866 posts are vacant in the country's Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) against the sanctioned 10,05,520 posts as on the 1st of January 2023. <br />''<br />''In a written reply in Rajya Sabha today, Mr. Rai clarified that the vacancies in the CAPFs arise on account of retirements, resignations, promotions, death, new raising of Battalion and creation of new posts. He informed that recruitment of 31,785 personnel in the CAPFs has been done in the past five months.<br />''<br />''On query of total number of doctors, nurses and other medical professionals and unfilled posts of medical professionals in &nbsp;CAPFs, Mr. Rai mentioned that a total of 2,193 doctors were available in the CAPFs and 247 posts of this rank were unfilled till the 1st of January this year.<br />''&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The CAPFs comprise the Border Security Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Sashastra Seema Bal, and Assam Rifles.</span><br />
