The theme song for the Commonwealth Games was today released at a gala function in Gurgaon. The song “Jiyo Bhado Utho Jeeto” was unveiled by Oscar Award winner A. R. Rahman, who has composed the song. A.R.Rahman enthralled the audience with the inspiring and exciting song. Speaking on the occasion Rahman hoped that the people will like the theme song and the spirit of the games will begin in right earnest. Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dixit expressed the hope that the Commonwealth Games in India will be the best and the most memorable. Chief Minister of Haryana Bhupendra Singh Hooda said that the Commonwealth Games will be celebrated like a festival and the festivities have begun. He said that his government will extend whatever assistance is required from the state. The chairman of the organising committee Suresh Kalmadi described the occasion as turning point for the Games which will begin from the 4th of October.
