A BSF jawan killed in fresh firing by Pakistan along IB in J&K

A BSF jawan was killed today, as Pakistan resumed heavy mortar shelling targeting scores of Border Out Posts and civilian areas along International Border in Samba and Kathua districts.

A senior BSF officer told PTI that Pakistan Rangers resorted to heavy mortar shelling on Border out posts and civilian areas at around 2 PM today, adding that the force is also strongly retaliating. The deceased has been identified as Constable Davinder Kumar who was at Khora Border Out Posts in Samba sector.

The BSF sources said four jawans and a woman were killed in Pakistan shelling and firing during the last one week adding, five Pakistani rangers and a girl were killed in retaliatory firing. Around 8 p.m. the Pakistani rangers also opened front at some forward posts in R.S. Pura sector of Jammu district which was prompted by retaliation from BSF.
