99% land acquired in Gujarat for Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project, says Piyush Goyal

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Railways Minister, Piyush Goyal today said 99 per cent land has been acquired in Gujarat for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project. Replying to a supplementaries during the Question Hour in Lok Sabha, Mr. Goyal said that in Maharashtra on the other hand only 24 per cent land has been acquired for the project.<br />'' <br />'' Blaming the Shiv Sena-led coalition government in Maharashtra for halting the project, he said, whatever land was acquired was during the previous regime. He said, if the Maharashtra government cooperates, then the high-speed rail network can be expedited.<br />''<br />''Some Shiv Sena members objected to his allegations. The Minister also informed that the work for preparation of Detailed Project Report for high speed rail corridor between Mumbai and Nagpur corridor has been approved and entrusted to National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited and the same is under progress. Mr. Goyal however said, the project is yet to be sanctioned. Shiv Sena MP from Buldhana Prataprao Jadhav  had asked this question.</span>
