In West Bengal, altogether 98 nomination papers have been filed so far for first phase of Assembly Elections in the state. The first phase poll will take place in 54 seats covering six North Bengal Districts on 18th of April. AIR correspondent reports that the State Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Sunil Gupta had video conference with all districts Magistrates and Superintendent of police on Election preparedness on Monday afternoon. The meeting discussed law & order situation, execution of pending non- bail able arrest warrants and other nitty-gritty on poll related issues. Meanwhile, the former Indian Cricket Captain Sourav Gangly and Tabla Maestro Bikram Ghosh today took part in a VDO Film shooting to create awareness among voters as the Election Commission selected them as Icon of Commission.
