The water storage available in 91 major reservoirs of the country for the week ending on 18th August was 96.721 Billion Cubic Metre, BCM. It amounts to 61 percent of total storage capacity of these reservoirs. <br/><br/>The total storage capacity of these reservoirs is 157.799 BCM which is about 62 percent of the total storage capacity of created in the country. 37 Reservoirs have hydropower benefit with installed capacity of more than 60 Megawatt.<br/><br/>According to an official release, States having better storage than last year for corresponding period are Jharkhand, Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and Karnataka. <br/><br/>States with equal storage than last year for corresponding period are Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. States having lesser storage than last year for corresponding period are Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
