The government today said three lakh eight thousand three hundred twenty crore rupees has been disbursed to farmers as agricultural credit across the country till February this year. An official release says it represents 95 per cent of the target of three lakh twenty five thousand crore set for 2009-10. <br/>The flow of agriculture credit since 2003-04 has consistently exceeded the target. It has increased from 86, 981 crore rupees in 2003-04 to over three lakh one thousand crore in 2008-09. <br/>Similarly, as part of initiative taken by Ministry of Agriculture to provide Kisan Credit Card to all the eligible and willing farmers in a time bound manner 9.06 crore Kisan Credit cards have been issued up to February, this year . Our correspondent reports the State Governments have been advised to launch an intensive branch/village level campaign to popularize Kisan Credit card among farmers.
