In Assam, 91 candidates have submitted their nomination papers so far for the second phase of Assembly polls scheduled to be held on 11th of next month. 75 candidates submitted their nomination forms yesterday. The number is likely to increase today. Tomorrow is the last day of submission of nomination papers for this phase. Scrutiny of the nomination papers will be taken up on Saturday. Meanwhile, the ruling Congress declared its last list of candidates in 2 constituencies. The party had already declared its list of 124 constituencies for the upcoming polls. On the other hand, the CPI-M, CPI and Trinmool Congress declared their election manifesto. The Trinmool Congress promised to ensure good governance and impartial administration in the state. CPI-M's poll manifesto also promised a clean government in the state. The party also promised to increase employment generation opportunity. The CPI promised to resolve border dispute with neighboring states and also improvement of road connectivity in the state. AIR correspondent reports, 485 candidates are in fray for the first phase of Assembly polls scheduled to be held on 4th of the next month.
