9 years of Modi govt: India ranks third largest in world with 70 thousand startups

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Start up India Initiative on 16th January 2016 with the objective of supporting entrepreneurs in building a robust startup ecosystem and transforming India into a country of job creators instead of job seekers.<br />”<br />”As Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that start-ups, technology and innovation are exciting and effective instruments for India's transformation, this initiative has created a strong ecosystem for nurturing innovation and sustainable economic growth in the Country.<br />”<br />”Akashvani correspondent reports, India ranks third largest in the world with 70 thousand startups. It has three lakh 50 thousand individual innovators, 8200 start-ups which were benefited by various schemes and 229 exclusive programs.<br />”<br />”More than 95 crore worth benefits have been disbursed till now.<br />”<br />”The Government has a one-click application process program management system. It has the world's largest incubator network which provides instant access to over three lakh 80 thousand startups, stakeholders and policymakers.<br />”<br />”The Programs are managed by a dedicated Start-up India team, which reports to the Department of Industrial &nbsp;Policy and Promotion. Ranging from digital technology to agriculture, manufacturing, social sector, health care and education. &nbsp;<br />”<br />”In the past nine years, the country has 99 thousand 380 startups which are recognised by the DPIIT and more than 6 lakh users on the start-up portal.<br />”<br />”In Tamilnadu, 6253 startups have DPIIT recognition and 3041 start-ups led by women. The Government encourages start-up initiatives by giving away prestigious awards every year.<br />”<br />”The Startup challenges are organised in Ayush, animal husbandry, and also initiatives in health, technology, software, education and research areas.<br />”<br />”The start up of yoga challenge by the Ministry of Ayush in partnership with start-up India and Invest India is envisaged to invite startups and individuals who have developed products related to yoga to track the treatment delivery and outcome.<br />”<br />”In the fisheries start-up grand challenge, 12 winners get a cash grant of Rs. 2 lakh each funded by the department of Fisheries to the tune of more than 3 crores.<br />”<br />”<span style="color: #222222;">The initiative is successful because it also has an easy exit program to help those who are struggling to achieve.</span><br />
