9 Years of Modi Govt: India implemented largest immunization programme under Mission Indradhanush

<span style="color: #222222;">Vaccines are one of the most effective, affordable and safe methods to protect communities from infectious diseases that may cause serious illnesses, disabilities or death. To boost routine immunization coverage across the country, Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) is introduced in 416 districts across 33 states.<br />”<br />”The main aim of Intensified Mission Indradhanush is to fill the gap in the routine immunization coverage of infants and pregnant women hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. Each round under IMI 4.0 is conducted for seven days, including Routine Immunization (RI) days, Sundays, and public holidays.<br />”<br />”This immunization drive is taken seriously in the remote state of Mizoram, where the interiors are hardly reached by modern health facilities.Especially in the aspirational District of Mamit, in west Mizoram, the routine is taken up by the District Task Force On Immunization.<br />”<br />”According to officials, IMI has 99% achievement in giving vaccines to pregnant women in the year 2022, and 97.1 % achieved in targeted children.<br />”<br />”Akashvani Correspondent reports, In Mamit District 9934 children are targeted under the Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 4.0 – 1st Round and 2nd Round. 91.1 percent of the targeted children and 99 percent of pregnant women are covered under this scheme. &nbsp;<br />”<br />”District authorities have helped in carrying out house-to-house surveys by the health staff and IMI sessions are set up to vaccinate all beneficiaries who were overdue for any vaccines.<br />”<br />”Along with IMI vaccines, Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) and Covid-19 vaccines are also administered. According to health officials, routine immunization faced some hiccups especially during the pandemic as house to house campaign was made impossible and has affected the end result. &nbsp;<br />”<br />”The dist authorities of Mizoram has also taken the power to reach out to Myanmar refugees where health workers are sent to administer vaccines in their designated camps. &nbsp;</span><br />
