9 years of Modi govt: A look at Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre IN-SPACe

Today, we take a look at the story of Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre IN-SPACe.<br />”<br />”In-SPACe is an autonomous and single window nodal agency in the Department of Space for the promotion, encouragement, and regulation of space activities of both government and private entities. It also facilitates the usage of ISRO facilities by private entities. The promotion and enabling of private entities in the space sector is providing a major fillip to the space sector and opening up new vistas of opportunity for India’s talented youth.&nbsp;<br />”<br />”Inaugurating the headquarters of IN-SPACe in Ahmedabad on 10th June last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed happiness that more than 60 private companies are leading in the country’s space sectors with advanced preparation.<br />”<br />”The establishment of IN-SPACe was announced in June 2020. IN-SPACe is responsible to promote, enable authorize and supervise various space activities of non-governmental entities including building launch vehicles and satellites and providing space-based services, sharing space infrastructure and premises under the control of the Department of Space and ISRO, and establishing new space infrastructure and facilities. The agency acts as an interface between ISRO and Non-Governmental Entities and assesses how to utilize India's space resources better and increase space-based activities.&nbsp;<br />
