In Himachal Pradesh Police has arrested nine persons including eight suspected Chinese nationals at Chauntra of Mandi district. A Large quantity of foreign goods, liquor and Indian currency of over 30 lacs has been recovered from them .
The goods include half a dozen of Chinese phones and sim cards. Acting on a tip- off a team of state police conducted a raid in the premises of a building and arrested them with a security guard, The police is also searching for the owner of the building.
These people of Chinese origin are said to have been working as carpenters and painters for the last two years and residing in this building covered with barbed- wire fortified boundary walls.
These people of Chinese origin have been arrested under various sections of foreign Regulatory act and violation of other provisions of the law of the land. All the arrested people have been locked up in the Police Station in Joginder Nagar.
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said that it is now the responsibility of the central government to identify these arrested people said to be of Chinese origin and the real purpose of their stay in Himachal Pradesh.
