Nine people were killed, when a plane crashed at a popular New Zealand tourist spot this morning. Officials said the plane went down near the airstrip at Fox Glacier on the west coast of New Zealand's South Island. The area is a major tourist attraction in the UNESCO-designated World Heritage site. A police spokesman said that all nine people including the pilot on board have been killed. The Police and emergency services are at the scene. Initial details of the tragedy were sketchy because of the remoteness of the area, however, the police spokesman confirmed that the plane burst into flames after it crashed.
