In China, nine people were killed and one injured in a coal mine fire in the northwest Shaanxi Province. Officials said twenty-seven miners were working underground when the fire occurred in the Quanzigou Coal Mine in Hancheng City. Seventeen miners were evacuated safely. The injured miner has been admitted to a hospital.
