9 killed 22 injured in Pak twin blasts

In Pakistan, nine people were killed and 22 injured on Friday in two bomb attacks in the restive northwest. At least three people were killed and fifteen others injured in a blast at a mosque in Peshawar. Local media report said the blast occurred in Pushta Khara area during Friday prayers. The explosives were fixed inside the mosque.In another incident, a lieutenant colonel was among six Pakistani soldiers killed when their vehicle was targeted with a roadside bomb in Yakh Kandao area of Orakzai tribal agency.Taliban and al-Qaeda militants are active in the area.
