In Assam, nine Hills Tiger Force militants, including its self-styled commander-in-chief and financial secretary have been arrested during a joint operation by Army and Police in North Cachar Hill district on Sunday. Security forces also destroyed a shelter camp of the militants at Arda near the district headquarter Halflong. A huge quantity of arms and ammunition, including seven rifles, 15 Gelatine sticks, 15 detonators, two pistols, two grenades have been recovered from the camp.In another incident, a child died on the spot and 13 others wounded when a bomb exploded at the firing range at Sukanjuli in Baksa district today. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospital at Tamulpur. Four of the seriously injured have been shifted to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital.
