9 die of squall in Allahabad

Nine people were killed and fifteen other injured in a dust storm and Squall occurred in rural areas of Allahabad this morning. <br/><br/>While Conforming nine deaths including five men and four women, acting District Magistrate of Allahabad, Yashoda Rishikesh Bhaskar announced a relief of rupees one lakh for those families who lost their members in today’s storm. All the deaths are reported from rural areas. <br/><br/>Soraon thesil area is badly affected. Four persons died in Phahamau area and two in Nawabganj area. <br/><br/>Three more deaths were reported from Holagarh area. Most of the deaths occurred due to sudden collapse of Buildings, walls and falling of large number of trees. <br/><br/>Electric supply is badly affected in these areas. However the officer in charge of Electric Supply Department (rural areas), Ashok Kumar told AIR Allahabad correspondent that the electric supply has resumed partly in some areas in evening while in other affected rural areas power supply would be resumed by tomorrow. Supply was stopped due to large number of electric polls were uprooted in soraon, Holagarh and other rural areas.<br/><br/>Meanwhile the Met department said that Dust storm and Thunderstorm with Squall may occur in different parts of the state in next 48 hours.
