At least nine people were electrocuted to death and 30 others injured when a bus caught fire after coming in contact with a live power transmission 11 KV line in the Golanthara area of Ganjam district in Odisha on Sunday. All the injured have been admitted to nearby MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. Preliminary information suggested that the luggage carrier at the top of the bus came in contact with the transmission line. <br />'' <br />'' Sub Divisional Police Officer, Berhampur said, the people were on their way to attend a marriage negotiation ceremony. Ganjam SP said, the incident will be thoroughly investigated to ascertain the circumstances in which the accident took place and action will be taken on the basis of the report. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his condolence and announced ex-gratia of 2 lakh rupees each to the next of kin of the deceased and free medical treatment to the injured persons. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed his grief over the deaths and wished speedy recovery of the injured.<br />
