The Eighth Session of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly commenced yesterday. The two-day session will conclude tomorrow. On the first day of the session, discussion on matters of urgent public importance on Naga Political Issue was taken up by the house.<br />''After almost five hours of discussion on the issue with a total of 15-member participation from both the Treasury and Opposition benches, the house unanimously adopted a five-point Resolution on the political issue. In the resolution, the house appealed to the negotiating parties of the Indo-Naga Political dialogue to resume the Peace Talks with a positive approach and mutual respect by setting aside pre-conditions, in deference to the Naga people's cry for long-term peace and resolve the contentious issues at the earliest. The house pleaded to all Naga political groups to make serious efforts towards unity and reconciliation.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">Besides, reporting on assent to bills and introducing various bills, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio tabled the Annual Reports 2019-2020 of the Nagaland Information Commission and the Rules and Bye-Laws of Nagaland Eklavya Model Residential Schools Management Society. He also introduced two bills ' Nagaland Professions, Trades, Callings and Employment Taxation (Fifth Amendment) Bill, 2020 and the Nagaland Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill 2021. Speaker Sharingain Longkumer informed that the bills would be taken up for consideration and passing tomorrow. The Speaker further informed that a discussion on Border related issue will also be taken up on the second day of the session. Later, the Speaker adjourned the house for the day.</span><br />
