About 87 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the Tripura Assembly Elections for which the polling was held on Thursday.

The elections were held for 60 Assembly Constituencies spread over 8 Districts in the State.

Briefing reporters in New Delhi, the Deputy Election Commissioner , Mr Alok Shukla said that the election was totally peaceful and there was no report of any untoward incident.
