The Information and Broadcasting Ministry on Friday said that the percentage of digitization in the four Metro cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata has reached 85 per cent. The Ministry in its statement said that this figure has been achieved by digitization of only the Cable Homes.

The Metro-wise progress shows that Mumbai has nearly achieved 100 per cent digitization while Delhi has achieved 83 per cent digitization of Cable Homes and with DTH, the percentage of digitization is 88 per cent.

In Kolkata, Cable homes have reached 80 per cent digitization.

In Chennai, the Cable homes are showing 61 per cent digitization and together with DTH, the percentage of digitization goes up to 85 per cent.

The deadline for complete switchover to digitization in the four metros will end on 31st of this month.
