85 per cent of computerisation in the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS), which aims to connect police stations across the country online, has been completed. Home Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday reviewed the two key projects – CCTNS and National Emergency Response System (NERS).<br/><br/>An official release said Home Minister was apprised that till date, 93 lakh FIRs have been registered using the CCTNS System. 32 States/Union Territories are sharing data with National Data Centre (NDC). Mr Singh also reviewed the status of NERS project which aims to roll out pan-India single emergency number- 112, for all kinds of emergencies and distress calls from across the country. Both the phases are expected to be completed by end of 2017.
