Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that 85 lakh people have surrendered LPG subsidies. Addressing a citizen rally at Jorhat in Assam today, Mr. Modi said if intentions are good then policies can be implemented for the betterment of poor people. <br/><br/>The Prime Minister said because of direct bank transfer of LGP subsidy, the Centre is able to save 15,000 crore rupees within a short span of time. <br/><br/>He said the Centre has set a target of providing LPG connections to 5 crore poor families in the next 3 years. BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate and Union Sports Minister Sarbanand Sonowal has also attended the rally. <br/><br/>
