In Tamilnadu, a total of 84 candidates have filed their nominations since the date of notification was announced on the 19th of this month. As per the electoral rolls on the 10th of January Four crore 59 lakh 50 thousand and 620 voters will be selecting the 14th assembly. The state has 54 thousand and sixteen polling stations. Nominations will close this Saturday and the scrutiny will be done on the 28th. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is on the 30th of this month. The polling date is on the 13th of April and counting of votes is on 13th May. Fifty eight expenditure committees will be monitoring the expenses of the candidates and 122 general observers from seventeen states other than Tamilnadu will be supervising the general conduct of polls in the state.
