<span style="color: #222222;">In Tamil Nadu, 82 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals while 49 new cases have been reported today. The State Health Minister Dr C Vijayabhaskar told reporters this evening, the mortality rate is being maintained well within 1.1 per cent. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">No death of the positive patients has been reported today from the state. Though the figure of the total infected cases has gone up to 1,372, the active caseload is said to be 1,007 persons.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Correspondent reports, though the total caseload in Tamil Nadu is marginally increasing day by day, the State Health Department says the fresh cases are being reported only from within the containment zones. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">It further says all cases of influenza-like-infection-ILI and the severe-acute-respiratory infection-SARI are being subjected to tests to identify if they have the SARS-CoV2 viral load in their bodies. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, the Indian Council for Medical Research has cleared the first stage of approval for carrying out studies on the possible use of blood platelets from the cured patients to treat those in hospitals. The Government Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital and the state-run Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University, both in Chennai, have equipped themselves to carry out the clinical studies. The state authorities say once the second approval from the ICMR is received, they will go ahead with the research.</span><br />''  <br />
