In Chile, at least 81 inmates of a prison have been killed in a fire in the capital Santiago. The incident occurred today morning when the fire first hit the third floor of a tower of the San Miguel prison. According to Radio Bio-Bio, hundreds of inmates were evacuated at the prison. 14 prisoners are said to have life threatening injuries. Television pictures have shown smoke, billowing from the building.
