Eight Hundred and Six new FM Channels will be granted licenses under third phase of private FM expansion. Auctions for these will be held very soon. This was revealed by Information and Broadcasting Secretary Raghu Menon in New Delhi today. Mr. Menon said that all procedures have been completed and auctions will be held soon after getting the Cabinet's Approval. He added that the new stations will be set up in over 280 smaller cities and towns where private FM radio has not reached so far including the north eastern regions.
