In Tamil Nadu, 80 per cent votes were polled in the Sankarankoil assembly bypoll held on Sunday. Polling process was monitored by Election Commission through webcameras placed in all the 242 polling booths. Thirteen candidates including Muthuselvi of ruling AIADMK, Jawahar Suryakumar of DMK, Muthukumar of DMDK contested the election. The electronic voting machines will be taken Sunday night to the counting centre Puliyankudi Veerachamy engineering College in Tirunelveli district. Security has been strengthened in and around the counting centre.
