An eight member committee will consider a proposal to convert Rajiv Gandhi National Institute for Youth Developmentat Sriperumbudur into Rajiv Gandhi Central University / National Institute of Youth and Sports.The proposals was received from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. An official release says the committee will examine the proposal and make suitable recommendations.The Committee is to lay down its own procedure, and is expected to submit its report to the Government within two months time from the date of this notification. The University Grants Commission (UGC) will provide all secretarial assistance and logistics support to the Committee.
