In Afghanistan, eight armed insurgents were killed and two wounded in joint and independent operations by the Afghan security forces and NATO Coalition troops in Helmand and Kandhar provinces the past 24 hours. A big cash of sophisticated arms, ammunition and narcotics was also recovered from the killed insurgents. In Paktiya province the coalition forces with the help of Afghan Police killed four armed insurgents when they were trying to run away from the police check point. Arms, ammunition and expolsive materials were also recovered in police operations in Kabul, Paktiya and Helmand provinces
