8.76 gigawatt renewable energy capacity added in the country during year 2019-20

The New and Renewable Energy Ministry has informed that a total of 8.76 gigawatt renewable energy capacity has been added in the country during the year 2019-20. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, New and Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh said, total installed capacity from non-fossil fuel sources constitutes 38.49 per cent of total installed electricity generation capacity in the country.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">He said, India has committed to generate 40 per cent of its total installed electricity generation capacity from non-fossil fuel sources by the year 2030. Replying to another query, Mr. Singh said, 43 solar parks having the total aggregate capacity of 28 thousand 201 megawatt have been sanctioned in the 15 States.</span><br />
