7th pay panel to submit report next month

7th Central Pay Commission will submit its report by next month. Chairman of the Commission, Justice A K Mathur told this to news agency PTI. The Commission, which was set up in February last year was required to submit its report by this month. It was set up to revise pay scales of about 48 lakh central government employees and 55 lakh pensioners.<br/><br/>The Commission has already completed discussions with various stakeholders including organisations, federations, groups representing civil employees as well as Defence Services. It is now in the process of finalising its recommendations. The recommendations of the Commission are scheduled to come into effect from January next year. The government constitutes pay commission every ten years to revise the pay scales of its employees and often these are adopted by states after some modification.
