791 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Kerala

<span style="color: #222222;">Kerala continued to report spike in COVID-19 cases as 791 new cases are confirmed today, out of which, 532 are through local transmission. State also reported one COVID death taking the death toll to 38.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Thiruvananthapuram is the worst-hit with 246 new cases, among which 237 persons got the disease through contact. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the situation is extremely serious,  especially  in Poonthura and Pullu vila areas,  where community spread is being confirmed. <br />''<br />''He said that complete lockdown will be declared in the coastal regions of the district in due course, for which the regions are divided into three zones. More health workers  and police officials will be deputed there.<br />''<br />''COVID first line treatment centres will be made functional in the region at the earliest. Public is  strictly  forebidden from venturing out except for emergency. Meanwhile, 133 recoveries were reported in the state today. Presently, 6,029 active COVID cases are there in Kerala.</span><br />''
