77 Indian students and a professor evacuated from strife-torn city of Osh: MEA

Seventy seven Indian students and a professor, who were trapped in Kyrgyzstan's southern Osh city wracked by ethnic violence, have been safely evacuated.Sources in the Ministry of External Affairs Ministry said the Indian mission in Kyrgyzstan, in active cooperation with Kyrgyz authorities, succeeded in pulling the students and one professor of Indian Council for Cultural Relations out of Osh and taking them to Kyrgyz capital Bishkek.The sources said that the efforts are on to get the remaining Indians out of Osh and Jalalabad.Over 100 Indians were trapped in Kyrgyz city which has been hit by ethnic violence for the last three days leaving 113 people dead.
