Approximately 75 percent of over 1.5 lakh electorate exercised their franchise in Gandhinagar district Mansa Assembly segment bypoll till the end of the polling.The Mansa Assembly seat fell vacant due to death of sitting BJP MLA Shri Mangaldas Patel last year.Opposition Congress has fielded Shri Babuji Thakur, who lost 2007 poll in Mansa by merely 3,370 votes. BJP has fielded Shri Dasharath Patel, who is relatively a news face in local politics.The bypoll failed to evoke a keen political interest among the people as Gujarat Assembly election is due leter this year.
