<span style="color: #222222;">The Government today said the total number of seven thousand four hundred twenty-two crore digital transactions have been taken place during current financial year till 28th of last month. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, the Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar said Bharat Interface for Money-Unified Payments Interface (BHIM-UPI) has emerged as the preferred payment mode of the citizens. He said it has achieved a record of 452 crore 75 lakh digital payment transactions with the value of 8.27 lakh crore rupees by end of the last month. Mr. Chandrasekhar said Covid-19 pandemic has established that digital payments enable access to healthcare as well through contactless payment modes like BHIP-UPI QR code in consonance with the new norm of social distancing.<br />''<br />''On the possibility of increased security breaches, the Minister said a strong grievance redressal mechanism has been set up by the Government and Reserve bank of India to address the grievances related to cyber financial frauds of the individuals in a time-bound manner. He said government as well as RBI have undertaken steps to ensure safety and security of digital payments.</span><br />
