72nd Republic Day celebrated by Indian community with great enthusiasm in Bangladesh

<span style="color: #222222;">The Diaspora community of Bangladesh also celebrated the Republic Day with enthusiasm in Dhaka. The High Commission of India in Dhaka organised the Republic Day programme inviting Indians in Dhaka to participate in the event. AIR Correspondent reports that, 72nd Republic Day was celebrated in Bangladesh today with great enthusiasm by the Indian community in Dhaka.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Vikram Doraiswami hoisted the flag in the chancery premises. After the flag hoisting ceremony, the High Commissioner read out parts of the President's address to the nation delivered on the eve of Republic Day.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Members of the Indian Community in Dhaka participated in the Republic Day celebration at the Chancery premises. During the programme, High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami interacted with the Indian community members who had gathered to celebrate the Republic Day.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Elaborate arrangements were made for maintaining health safety of the people gathered for the celebration. People wore masks and gloves and maintained social distancing in view of the continuing COVID 19 pandemic in the country.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Republic Day was celebrated in other parts of Bangladesh also. Assistant High Commissions of India in Sylhet, Khulna and Chittagong celebrated the Republic Day with flag hoisting in the chancery premises.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina extended her warm greetings to India on the occasion of the Republic Day. In her letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sheikh Hasina termed the relationship between the two countries as special. She said that India and Bangladesh are opening new frontiers of bilateral cooperation even during the difficult times created by the pandemic.</span><br />
