At least 7 persons were killed in a road accident in Chhattisgarh last night. The accident occurred when a speeding jeep hit a road divider and overturned in the Raipur district of the state. Three persons including the driver were killed on the spot while the rest four succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. The deceased include two kids and three women. About 20 injured have also been admitted to the government hospital in Raipur. The Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh has announced an ex-gratia of fifty thousand rupees each to the next of kin of those killed. He has also ordered for the free treatment of those who got injured in this tragic accident. All the victims belonged to village Riba in the Raipur district who were returning after taking part in a religious function.
